LinkedIn has its own set of image dimensions separate from other social platforms, and getting them wrong is a common reason profile banners look stretched, cropped, or pixelated.

Profile picture

Recommended size: 400 × 400 pixels, displayed in a circle. Keep your face or logo centered, since the circular crop removes the corners of a square upload.

Personal profile banner

Recommended size: 1584 × 396 pixels. This is a wide, short banner that sits behind your profile picture — remember that your profile photo will overlap the bottom-left portion of this image, so avoid placing important text or logos in that specific area.

Company Page logo

Recommended size: 300 × 300 pixels minimum. Like personal profile pictures, this displays in a circular crop in some placements, so keep the logo centered with margin around the edges.

Company Page cover image

Recommended size: 1128 × 191 pixels, notably shorter and wider than a personal profile banner.

Shared post images

For images shared in the feed, 1200 × 627 pixels (roughly 1.91:1) displays well and also matches the dimensions LinkedIn uses for link preview thumbnails when you share a URL.

Why the banner overlap trips people up

The single most common LinkedIn image mistake is designing a personal profile banner without accounting for the profile picture that will sit on top of its bottom-left corner. Always mock up your banner with a circular placeholder in that position before finalizing the design, or keep that specific area free of text and logos entirely.

Getting these sizes right

Since LinkedIn’s banner dimensions are unusually wide and short compared to most platforms, starting from a photo with a very different aspect ratio often requires more cropping than resizing alone can fix. Resize down to the target width first, then crop the height to match — our resizer handles the dimension math automatically once you enter LinkedIn’s exact target size.
